Subtraction With Regrouping Beyond 100
Column Subtraction can be performed by first subtracting the digits at ones place and then subtracting the digits at tens place.
For example let us solve the question
Subtract 254 from348
348 - 254 = ?
As we have to subtract 254 from 348 we will perform the following steps
Step 1: Subtract the ones first.
8 ones - 4 ones = 4 ones.
Step 2: Subtract the tens
4 tens - 5 tens
As 4 is less than 5 so we will subtract the tens by regrouping.
1 hundred 4 tens = 14 tens
14 tens - 5 tens = 9 tens.
Step 3 : Now subtract the hundreds
2 hundred - 2 hundred = 0 hundred
Hence the answer is 94
